Presentation to Alabama Bankers Association

Julie Barns, BSA/AML Compliance Specialist at MSB Compliance Inc. was pleased to present at the Alabama Bankers Association's annual Advanced BSA Officer School held in Destin, Florida on September 25, 2013.  Ms. Barns shared from her past experience working with FinCEN and as an FDIC examiner on "Money Services Businesses: Past, Present & Future".

The presentation covered the reasons why consumers choose various transaction based financial services of MSBs rather than account based financial services of banks, the BSA/AML requirements applicable to MSBs, common issues identified when performing independent reviews of MSBs and of banks serving MSBs, and various challenges and changes in the MSB landscape.
